Free Homework Passes

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!  If you're looking for GOLD, you've come to the right place! I've a GIVEAWAY you can enter by clicking the first image shown below.  I also have a Saint Patrick's Day freebie you can get through a link within this post so keep reading!

If you've ever thought about having a treasure hunt with your class, Saint Patrick's Day is the perfect day to start.  But it's not an activity that you can just "Print and Go".  You'll need to map out the locations for the children to find their clues and deposit the clues in advance of the activity.  You'll also have to prepare the "treasure".  The "treasure" can be a toy prize, chocolate gold coins, or anything else.

If you've taught for a while, chances are good that you've walked out of your front door and left something at home that you intended to take to school.  It happens to the best of us!  And some of us have done it on Saint Patrick's Day.  Yep.  The treat was left at your house!  You could call a friend or family member and ask him/her to go get the item at your house and bring it to school.  You could change your event (treasure hunt) to another day.  You could call a parent volunteer and ask that she/he go to the store and buy something that could be used in place of your treat.  If none of those alternatives are practical, you could try to find a substitute treat at school.  You could dig through your purse and see if you have enough coins to give each child one or two.  You could rummage through your prize box and see if you have something there.  You could also go to your school's snack machine and buy 20 some odd snacks.  And the list of replacement possibilities goes on!  I've one more thing add to that list.  It's homework passes.  What child doesn't love the idea of skipping a homework assignment?  You could write in limits such as allowable subjects and an expiration date.  I made a black and white version that could be printed on plain white paper or colored paper.

I also made a color version.

Four homework coupons print on a single sheet of paper.  Click on the image shown below to get them.

If you're in the habit of leaving things at home that you intended to bring to class there are a few things you can try to do to avoid this.  Put the items in your car the night before you need them.  This doesn't work if the item requires refrigeration.  It also doesn't work if you are getting a ride to school the pick up location is at your houseAnother thing that you can try is to put the items near your path against your inside front door.  This causes you to receive a visual reminder.  Tape a note (full size sheet of paper) to the inside of your front door if the items are in the refrigerator.

Don't forget to enter the contest by clicking on the first image in this post!  It's over with on March 31, 2017.  That's all for now!
