Alphabet Bingo for Early Learners

Are you teaching letter recognition? I have an alphabet game for your small groups!
One card from each set is shown above.
My alphabet bingo games for early learners includes three sets of cards. There are nine cards per set. Groups of uppercase letters are found in each set. In the first set of cards the letters used are: B, Q, D, Z, K, J, P, V, and T. The second set of cards have the letters: M, X, R, Y, F, L, S, N, and H. The final set of letters are: W, G, U, O, I, C, E, X, and A.
Set 1:  Letters with their sound at beginning of letter name with exception to the letter "Q".
It is interesting how the letter sounds of the alphabet are hidden in the names of the letters themselves.  Perhaps one of the reasons that young children become confused with letter sound production is due to the lack of consistency within the sounds' location in the letter name itself. When a child is required to make the sound for the letter "T", the child hears the sound for "T" at the beginning of the letter name. Some letters retain the sound at the end of the letter name (such as the "S") and other letters (such as a "W") do not contain the sound at all. No wonder so many young children miss the proper sound for "W" on assessments! It should be no surprise that "Bobby" is  using the /W/ sound in place of the /Y/ sound. After-all, he is hearing the /W/ sound at the beginning of the letter name for "Y"!
Right:  Set 2 with letter sounds at the end of the letter name with exception to the letter "H".  Left:  Set 3
These bingo games are colorful and cheerful. They have a happy scene with which to greet the children. The alphabet cards can be laminated and used with dough for letter formation practice.
Students can form letters with dough over laminated cards.
